Have departed from Innsbruck

Innsbruck Airport - 5am

Just thought I’d let you know that I have now left Europe and am currently in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia again for a few days in transit to break the long haul and recover from jetlag (in dire need of sleep, but…must…not…sleep…yet)!

Time has flown extremely fast in these twelve weeks that I have spent in Innsbruck. Left early Friday morning for the airport (had to get up at 4:30am so I could finish packing everything ready for moving out) was picked up from my accommodation at 5am and dropped off at the airport at 5:30am. Flight to Frankfurt was at 6am.

Starbucks at Frankfurt Airport

Had to kill five hours in Frankfurt before the intercontinental flight. Sat at Starbucks for quite some time since it was close to my boarding gate. Was not looking forward to a long twelve-hour flight, especially since I had only gotten four hours of sleep the previous night.

Business Class Gin n Tonic

BUT, luck was on my side for some reason and after getting my boarding pass at the gate, they realized that I would have to suffer in the second last row’s window seat of the plane. A lady at the airline counter was nice enough to upgrade me to business class, which I made full use of. Gin & Tonic to aid the fatigue and bring about sleep a lot quicker. Though the upgrade made it easier for me to sit through the long flight (with nice meals and a larger TV screen), I still only ended up getting three hours of sleep, that’s seven hours in total over the past two days.

There are still quite a few posts coming from many other experiences I have enjoyed over the last few weeks in Innsbruck. I am also almost at the end of my Venice post series, which I hope you’ve been enjoying too. Look out for these posts in the upcoming weeks as well as further updates. Will be returning to Melbourne on Tuesday. Time to enjoy tropical weather one more time before going into the Australian winter!
