Queen Victoria Market, Melbourne, Australia

Queen Victoria Market, Melbourne, Australia

Before working on the places around the world from last year, I thought I’d write about something a little bit closer to home, since Melodious Expeditions hasn’t really featured much about Melbourne. Queen Victoria market is a popular place to visit on the weekends. Took a trip out there on a Sunday last year. Read more…

Sitting in Innsbruck

A few life-changing and busy work events later…

*sigh*…..

That would probably be the first thing I’d say after several months of completely neglecting my blog. My work has just been too busy and it has made it very difficult for me to find time to sit down and do some blogging. Yet, every time I think back of my blogging times last year and early this year, I remember how I enjoyed talking about my experiences and how I miss it and wish I could find time. Well, I’ve decided that I’m going to make time rather than find it. Read more…

It’s been three months. I arrived in cold weather with mountains covered in snow. I have spent my last days in sunny summer weather with the snow gone. Fun times in Europe have temporarily come to an end and it’s time for me to leave. Read more…

About me and my research, a recent news article…

Just in case you have been wondering why there hasn’t been much activity recently, I have been focusing a lot of my energy on getting work done on the research side of things. My PhD research is currently in a busy period. I have been at the University office everyday for longer periods than usual working on several things that need to be done. By the time I get back at night I feel like all the energy has been drained from me and the efficiency that I normally work at will have disappeared by 8pm (after I cook dinner, eat up and wash up). I’ve been averaging 7-hours of sleep every night (I make it a point to get sleep), hence why I wouldn’t want to stay up later than necessary trying to work on stuff.

I just thought I’d post this up while it’s still freshly publicized. While I was in Innsbruck, I found out that I was offered a scholarship for my research work by the Victorian government (Victoria as in the state that Melbourne is in for those who do not know Australia that well). Upon my arrival back in Melbourne, I was asked to do an interview for the University about my research and the scholarship. If you’d like to get an idea of who I am ahead of time (while I deal with the backlog and delay in getting an About Me page out on the blog), you can read about it here. If you’d like to see a profile of me and my research, you can also click this link.
